Autopsy reports are public record under the Colorado Public Records Act, 30-10-601. The cost for the autopsy report is $1.25 per page prepaid. There is no charge to the next-of-kin for either report.
If you should desire an autopsy report, we suggest that you contact our office by phone to check on the status of the report. Autopsy reports may take anywhere from four weeks to twelve weeks depending upon the nature of the case and any additional testing that may be performed. We will require a written request from you.
